The MSJC volleyball team wrapped up a week that included five matches by winning two of three on Friday and Saturday.

The busy weekend started with a road win over Riverside, which the Eagles won in straight sets 25-11, 25-22, and 25-13.  Brooklynn Thomas and Carley Kruse led the way for MSJC knocking down 14 and 13 kills.  Megan Gajda added 7 kills and Hailey Frary had 5.  Trysta Vincelli dished out a match high 21 assists.  Defensivley, Thomas picked up a team high 10 digs and Tracy Blanchard had 3 block assists.

The Eagles kept it rolling in Saturday's first match as they swept Porterville; 25-16, 26-24, and 25-20.  Thomas again led the way on offense with a match high 13 kills.  Kruse and Josephine Springer added 6 kills each while Vincelli had 13 assists and a team high 11 digs.  MSJC's net defense was strong during the match as they collected a solo block and 10 block assists in the victory.

Unfortunatley, the Eagles saw their 7 match win streak come to an end in their second match Saturday as they lost a tightly contested match to LA Mission in four sets.  The teams split the first two sets, before Mission took the third 32-34, and then the fourth 14-25 to secure the win.  Thomas led the offense for the third straight match with 13 kills, Gajda was right behind her with 12, and Frary had 8 in the loss.  Genevieve Mezamartinez and Vincelli each had 17 assists and Lilly Galvan picked up 17 digs.

MSJC is now 8-4 on the season and will be in action twice this week as they travel to San Diego Miramar on Wednesday and host Cuyumaca on Friday.  Friday's home match in San Jacinto starts at noon.
