Riverside Closes Regular Season Victorious

Riverside City College closed out the regular season with a 7-2 victory over Hope International University Tuesday afternoon.

The Tigers improve to 16-3 overall and head into the Orange Empire Conference Championship coasting a two-game winning streak. The Royals drop to 6-10 on the year.

Riverside took two of three doubles matches, with Lance Lao and Michael Chang teaming up to win their match 8-4 and Raphael Delente and Austin Harvill grabbing an 8-2 victory in their doubles competition.

Team captains Emilio Real and Maurice Nolan set the tone for the Tigers with dominating performances at number one and number six singles. Harvill dug deep to win a tight, three-set match at number five, while Delente and Chang powered through straight-set victories.

The Tigers shift their attention to the postseason, hosting the OEC Championship with the first round getting underway on Thursday.
