Riverside Roars Past Saddleback on Sophomore Day

 Riverside City College closed out its conference season on a high note, downing Saddleback College 8-1 at home.

The Tigers improve to 15-3 on the year, 6-2 in Orange Empire Conference action. The Bobcats slip to 1-14 overall, 1-7 in conference.

RCC swept the doubles competition, including an 8-0 shutout from Raphael Delente and Austin Harvill.

In singles action, all five Tigers who won their matches did so in two sets, including dominating wins from Delente (6-0, 6-0), Matias Almeida-Ponce (6-0, 6-0) and Harvill (6-0, 6-0).

Following the match, RCC honored five sophomores: Harvill, Emilio Real, Maurice Nolan, Nate Johnston, and Delente.

The Tigers have one last tune-up before heading into the postseason, hosting NAIA's Hope International University on Tuesday at 2 p.m.
