Men’s Tennis Handles Mt. SAC in Straight Sets

After a strong Spring II season, the Riverside City College men's tennis team returned to action to face off against the Mt. San Antonio College Mounties in non-conference action. The Tigers, who featured a deep roster, routed the Mounties leading to a 9-0 victory.

Freshman duo Carlos Rullan and Rafael Rullan set the tone for the Tigers as they teamed up at the top doubles position and worked a 9-8 win. Freshman tandem Maurice Nolan and Luca Braan cruised to an 8-1 win at the second position, while freshman pairing Anant Bhika and Felicien Adam earned an 8-1 at the third spot.

Riverside went on to handle the singles matches with ease as not a single match went past two sets.

R. Rullan continued to dominate at the top spot with a 6-0, 6-1 win. Braan handled the second position with a 6-4, 6-0 win, while Adam swept the third spot at 6-0, 6-0.

C. Rullan was nearly perfect with a 6-1, 6-0 win, while freshman Max Myers earned a 6-0, 6-3 win at the sixth position.

Riverside (1-0) will continue action on the road against the Whittier College Poets on Friday, February 4 at 2 p.m.
