Tigers Keep Rolling

Third-ranked Riverside City College grabbed its fourth-straight win Saturday, downing Grossmont College 62-10. The Tigers (5-1, 3-0 SCFA Southern League) have now outscored their opponents 260-85 over the last four games.

RCC finished with 518 total offensive yards, including 341 passing yards and 177 rushing yards.

Brady Jones threw 19-for-33 for 307 yards, six touchdowns and no interceptions.

Ross Nickson III and Jackson Owens were each on the receiving end of two of those touchdowns, including the first two touchdowns of the game from Nickson.

The Tigers scored four touchdowns before the Griffins could answer back and held a 35-7 lead at halftime.

Marquis Monroe came up big for Riverside to start the third quarter, catching the kickoff at the one-yard line and racing all the way to the other endzone to put the Tigers up 41-7.

RCC scored three more touchdowns, while liming Grossmont to only a field goal in the second half, to secure the 62-10 victory.

Defensively, Marcellus Linton and Peter Eyabi each had four tackles, including a sack from Eyabi, along with a forced fumble and recovery.

The Tigers return home to host Southwestern College next week, kicking off at 2 p.m.
