Beach Volleyball Defeats Santa Ana in Conference Action

The Riverside City College women's beach volleyball team competed in Orange Empire Conference (OEC) action on Thursday afternoon against the Santa Ana College Dons. The Tigers kicked off conference play on the right foot by defeating the Dons by the final score of 4-1.

Two out of four Riverside victories came in two sets with the top team consisting of sophomore Natalie Escher and freshman Vashti Elias-Romero setting the tone. They won their match with set scores reading 21-17, 21-14. Number four pair consisting of freshman duo Robyn Collier and Patricia Brucks earned a two-set sweep with scores reading 21-12, 21-16.

Freshman tandem Sadie Arganda and Telanni Childs followed as the number three pair and reigned supreme by the final scores of 21-13, 18-21, 15-6.

Freshman number fives Morgan Spencer and Madison Hernandez won via forfeit.

Riverside (2-3) will continue action on Friday, March 1 against El Camino and San Diego Mesa on the road.
