RCC Opens Season Against Tough Opponents

RCC Opens Season Against Tough Opponents

Riverside City College opened the season at Mt. San Antonio College with two matches but fell 5-0 to the Mounties and 4-1 to Mt. San Jacinto College.

The Tigers begin the year with a 0-2 record, while Mt. SAC improves to 3-2 on the year and the Eagles move to 1-1 after falling to the Mounties.

In the match against Mt. SAC, Riley Chafee and Harmony Kniss put up a battle in the No. 2 spot, taking one set off the Mounties' Itzel Aguayo and Freda Lei, but ultimately falling 15-13 in the deciding set.

Against the Eagles, the duo grabbed the solo victory for the Tigers with a 21-14, 21-19 sweep over Kalia Anady and Jade Tolliver.

RCC isn't scheduled to play again until Feb. 12 when it heads to El Camino to take on the Warriors and Ventura College.
