Women’s Track & Field Sees Eight Top-Five Finishes at Mt. SAC Relays

The Riverside City College women's track & field program competed in the Mt. San Antonio College Relays on Saturday afternoon. The Tigers saw a handful of top five marks featuring eight podium finishes in carious categories.

Sophomore Alejandra Rosales paced the pack once again as she reeled in the top gold medal finish for the Tigers, She placed first overall in the Discus (142' 9"), backed by a second place finish in the  Shot Put (40' 2") and third in the Hammer (139' 10").

Freshman Isabelle Campos followed with a trio of fourth place finishes coming in the Hammer (133' 11"), Javelin (84'5") and Discus (124').

The jumps squad made their mark in the sand by taking two of the three podium spots in the Triple Jump. Sophomore Taylyn Henry placed second overall (33' 8"), while Michelle Palacios Alvidrez placed third (32' 9").

The Tigers held it down in the relays with a pair of silver medal finishes. Zoe Ewell, Briana Miller, Liliana Quezada, and Jolene Ruth Lavaki teamed up in the 400 M Relay (48.94), while Miller, Ewell, Quezada and Sarah DeLeon completed a second-place showing in the 1600 M Relay (4:02.52).

Freshman Dakota Zamarripa closed out the top finishes with a second-place showing in the 5000 M (20:39.76).
