Hornsby Breaks 110 M Hurdle School Record at Long Beach Invite

Freshman speedster Joshua Hornsby paced the Riverside City College track & field program this past weekend as they competed in both Azusa Pacific's Bryan Clay Invite and the Long Beach State's Beach Invitational. He was able to snap the tape against top Division I competitors while rewriting the record books.

Hornsby blessed the track by hauling in the gold medal in the 110 M Hurdles (13.87) at the Beach Invitational. The previous record was shared by Andrew Smith and George Woods at 13.89. It is his fourth win in the 110 M Hurdles the season. His previous best time was 14.01 at the Mt. SAC Relays.

Sophomore Kyle Reden competed in both meets highlighted by a second-place finish in the 800 M (1:51.03) at the Bryan Clay Invite. Hn followed with a 12th place finish in the 800 M (1:54.74) at the Beach Invitational.

Sophomore Darius Hill landed on the podium at the Beach Invitational coming in the High Jump (6' 11") to earn third overall. He followed with an eighth-place finish in the Long Jump (24' 4 ¼").

Freshman Edward Ta'amilo paced the throws department with a ninth-place mark in the Discus (163' 2").

For the women, sophomore Alejandra Rosales worked towards a 16th-place finish in the Discus (137'), while sophomore Elani Huntley placed top-20 in the 1500 M (4:59.42).
