Bio

Dr. Linda Lacy is being inducted into the Riverside City College Athletic Hall of Fame as a coach, but her impact on RCC and the District reached into classrooms, student services, and administrative offices. She arrived at RCC as a physical e ducat ion instructor and coach and left as a mentor, an administrator, and a friend. Linda came to Riverside after a successful high school volleyball coaching career in Oklahoma, winning six state championships and finishing second once.

At RCC, she spent four years at the helm of the Tiger volleyball team, winning 51 of 74 matches for a .689 winning percentage, the highest winning percentage among Tiger volleyball coaches to this day. She led Riverside to a post-season berth in each of her four seasons, finishing second once and third three times. Linda also coached the Riverside golf team, winning the program’s first conference championship.

Building on 12 years as an instructor and assistant high school principal in Oklahoma, Linda went on to become a vice president, vice chancellor, and interim president with RCCD, a career that spanned 23 years. In 2009, she became president/superintendent of Cerritos

Community College District.

Linda earned a bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma State University; a master’s degree from Central State University, graduating Summa Cum Laude; and a doctoral degree in Higher Education Administration from Oklahoma State University.
