Tigers Place Fourth in Conference Play

The Riverside City College golf team hit the links at the Black Gold Country Club in a round hosted by the Mt. San Antonio College Mounties. In Orange Empire Conference (OEC) competition, the Tigers placed fourth overall with a stroke count of 388.

Freshman Damien Quintanilla (Beamount, CA) paced the pack by two-over at 73. Despite starting off with three bogeys, he followed with five-straight pars and capped off his back nine with a birdie. He then added a pair of chirps on the back nine leading to his score.

Sophomore Brian Nielsen (Riverside, CA) worked towards a three-over at 74. He strung together a consistent round highlighted by three birdies on the front nine. He followed with one birdie on the back nine.

Sophomore Michael Herrera (Moreno Valley, CA) earned a 77, while freshman Ryan DeHart (Riverside, CA) backed him with a 79.

The Tigers currently sit in third place in conference with a record of 11-14. They will continue action on home ground at the Victoria Country Club for the OEC Host Match on Monday, April 26th. Tee times are set for 11 a.m.
