Beach Volleyball Earns AVCA All-Academic Team Honors

As the previous year has come to close and the new athletic year is set to kick off in approximately one month, the 2018-19 teams continue to rack in awards, not only on the playing field, but in the classroom. It was recently announced that the 2018-19 women's beach volleyball team has earned American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Academic Team honors.

The award, which was first established in 1992, honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that display excellence in the classroom during the school year by maintaining at least a 3.3 grade-point-average. This year, the Tigers are part of a record-breaking number of honorees.

Riverside is just one of two California Community College Beach Volleyball (CCCAA) beach volleyball teams to be honored, joining fellow conference opponent Irvine Valley College. Furthermore, they are one of 41 beach volleyball teams that were selected.
