Men’s Basketball Reaches Sixth Consecutive CCCAA Southern Regional Playoff

For the sixth-consecutive season, the Riverside City College men's basketball program has reached the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Southern Regional playoffs. The Tigers have earned the 14^th seed and will host the 18^th seeded LA Southwest College Cougars on Wednesday, February 22 at 5:30 p.m.

There will be a charge for admission due to CCCAA playoff policy. This is a cashless event and we accept all major credit card providers along with mobile phone pay. The charge for admission is $12 for general admission and $8 for students with a valid ID, children under 11 years old and senior citizens 60 years of age and older. The game will be live-streamed free of charge on Riverside Athletics YouTube Channel. We will also be providing live stats on www.rccathletics.com.

After earning two-consecutive Orange Empire Conference (OEC) Championships, the Tigers struggled through the gauntlet that is conference play this season. They finished with an overall record of 16-12 which included a conference mark of 9-7. They nearly edged top-ranked Fullerton in the second to last game of the season, but a last second three point attempted failed to fall to force overtime leading to a three-point defeat. The Tigers are one of five OEC squads that earned a bid. They are joined by No. 1 Fullerton, No. 10 Santiago Canyon, No. 13 Saddleback and No. 18 Cypress.

Riverside leans on a core three on the offense end with sophomore forward Reggie Ward acting as the nucleus of the system. Ward, in his first year as a Tiger, has emerged as the team's top scoring threat by averaging 13.2 points-per-game in 26 games played. Ward began his tear by scoring in double-digits in his first six games of the season and went on to tally 19 double-digit contests. His 19 double-digit games have contributed to seven double-doubles.

Freshman sharp shooter Tomi Adesiji brings the deep threat to the team as he currently averages 11.2 points-per-game. He leans on a 40.3 three-point percentage and a 86.2 free throw percentage. He has proven to be a big time, late game shooter after burying either the game winning, game tying or go ahead bucket on four different occasions this season. He has buried double-digits 16 times on the season as seen in two 21-point games. The Tigers won both of those contests.

Sophomore point guard Courtland Moffatt completes the three-headed offense beast for Riverside as he currently averages 11.2 points-per-game ranking second on the team. Acting as the gear of the offense, Moffatt's season highlight came in a 35-point victory over Santa Ana where he bagged a triple-double for the first time in his career. He inked an even 10 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists to achieve the feat. He leads his squad with 3.5 assists-per-game while dishing out at least one assist in every game this season. He landed in double-digits 15 times on the season highlighted by a 29-point outburst in a win over Citrus in mid-November.

Sophomore forward Jalen Monroe has clocked in solid minutes this season by averaging 7.2 points-per-game and 5.4 rebounds-per-game. He has played in 27 games while starting 16 of them. Sophomore Lynden Paul has heated up of late. He is coming off a 14-point game against Fullerton.
