RCC's Thieme and Kremling Advance to 3C2A Semifinals
Riverside City College's two doubles pairs battled Saturday at the 3C2A State Championship, but only one remains heading into the final day of competition.
Emily Thieme and Janine Kremling are still in the hunt for a doubles championship after dominating a two-set sweep (6-0, 6-0) in the round of 16s and grabbing another two-set victory (6-2, 6-3) in the quarterfinals. The Tiger duo is set to compete Anaya Ayanbadejo and Yesugen Ganbaatar from Santa Monica College in the semifinals Sunday at 8:30 a.m., hoping to earn their spot in the title match Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
Denise Campbell and Kaden Richards battled in both matches Saturday, winning the round of 16 but falling in a tiebreaker in the quarterfinals to end their championship run.
