Riverside Women’s Tennis Takes Down Santa Barbara, 6-3

It was a strong opening match for the Riverside City College women's tennis program as they kicked off their 2018 campaign against the Santa Barbara City College Vaqueros last Friday on the road. The Tigers defeated SBCC 6-4 highlighted by sweeping the doubles and taking home three singles victories.

Freshman number one doubles tandem Heather Graf (Yucaipa, CA) and Emilia Lopez (Norco, CA) took down their opponent by the final count of 8-4. Freshman Mikahela Kahler (San Bernardio, CA) and sophomore Ellia Rosado (Riverside, CA) followed with a 8-5 win, backed by a 8-2 victory compliments of sophomore Autumn Keay (Running Springs, CA) and freshman Joline Beaulieu (Riverside, CA).

After reigning supreme in her doubles match, Graf took home a singles victory by the final score of 6-3, 6-4 as the number two. Kahler and Beaulieu won their matches with both of their scores reading 6-2, 6-2.

The Tigers (1-0) will host the Bakersfield College Renegades for their home opener on Tuesday, January 30th at 2 p.m.
