Tigers Topple Defending State Champion Mt. San Antonio, 7-2, Friday

RIVERSIDE -- In a rematch in one of last season's California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Southern California Regional semifinal matches, the Riverside City College (RCC) Tigers women's tennis team exacted a bit of revenge with a 7-2 nonconference home victory over the defending state champion Mt. San Antonio College (MSAC) Mounties Friday (Jan. 29) at RCC's Fran Bushman Tennis Courts.

Last season, MSAC eliminated RCC, 5-1, in a match that was played to decision.

Riverside (2-0 overall) is ranked No. 7 in the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Southern California Regional rankings. The Tigers won the 2015 Orange Empire Conference (OEC) championship with a 10-0 record and were 17-3 overall.

In its next action, RCC will host the Cerritos College Falcons on Tuesday, Feb, 2, at 2 p.m.
