Riverside in Third Place After Day 1 of CCCAA Championships; Bouvier Wins State Championship in 200 IM

MONTEREY PARK --Winning one individual event and finishing second in a relay, the first day (of three) of competition is in the books at the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Championships and the Riverside City College (RCC) Tigers men's swimming and diving team finds itself in third place.

The CCCAA Championships are being hosted by East Los Angeles College (ELAC) in its natatorium in Monterey Park.

Golden West College (GWC) leads with 161 points, followed by Sierra (157 points) and Riverside (141).

RCC sophomore Maxence Bouvier (FRANCE) won the 200-yard individual medley (backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly stroke, freestyle) with a time of 1:50.99.

The Tigers quartet of freshman Arnaud Magnan, Bouvier, sophomore Lazar Raca (Belgrabe, SERBIA), and freshman Jacob White (Yucaipa / Yucaipa HS) finished second in 400-yard medley relay (3:23.23).

Other RCC high finishes were turned in by freshman Farouk Zaoui (FRANCE) in the 500-yard freestyle (4:35.21, third place), freshman Brenden Brown (Riverside / Poly HS) in the three-meter diving event (212.25, third place), sophomore Aaron Garcia (Upland / Upland HS) in the three-meter diving event (175.95, fourth place), and the 200-yard freestyle relay quartet of freshman Kyle Acevedo (Redlands / Redlands East Valley HS), White, freshman Jesse Mondragon (Riverside / Ramona HS) and Raca finished fourth (1:24.83).
