Tigers Top Golden West, 20-9; Face Fullerton for Conference Crown Saturday
HUNTINGTON BEACH -- In a semifinal game of the Orange Empire Conference (OEC) Championship Tournament, the Riverside City College (RCC) Tigers women's water polo squad routed the Golden West College (GWC) Rustlers, 20-9, to advance to Saturday's conference championship game.
Riverside (23-3, 5-1 OEC) outscored the Rustlers, 5-1, in the second quarter and cruised to the victory. Sophomore Nikki Bell (Riverside / M.L. King '13) again led the way for the Tigers with a team-high nine goals. Delaney Thorne and Danika Bell, who is pictured, each added two goals. Frosh goalkeeper Kayla Chang (Kahuku, HI), had seven saves.
RCC will face the Fullerton College (FC) Hornets on Saturday, Nov. 8, at 3:10 p.m. for the conference championship.
