Golden West ousts Riverside in three sets
RIVERSIDE (10-17-2012) – Riverside (7-6, 2-4 OEC) continues to struggle in Orange Empire Conference play as Golden West, undefeated in conference play, swept Riverside in three sets. Riverside made the first set interesting, losing 27-25. However, Golden West, ranked seventh in the state, went on to control the second set and close-out the third set by winning 25-18 and 25-22. The Tigers could not slow down middle blocker Bethanee Boggs, who registered 15 kills and six solo blocks in the win for the visiting Rustlers. The Tigers were led by Cherylain Dizon and Trish Gauthier. Dizon had eight kills, and Gauthier racked up 12 digs. RCC will continue their home stand on Friday at 6 p.m. when Irvine Valley travels to Riverside. The Tigers will be looking to get a win to get back on track.
