Women’s Track & Field Kicks off Season at Moorpark Invitational

After a second place finish at the 2022 California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) State Championships, the Riverside City College women's track & field team looked to make a push for another podium finish this season with its journey starting at the Moorpark Invitational on Friday.

Sophomore Zoe Ewell continued to pace the Tigers in the sprints with a top finish in the 60 M (7.60). Additionally, she was an important leg in a first-place finishing 4 x 400 M Relay team (4:08.39). She was joined by freshman trio Briana Miller, Lilana Quezada and Kasey Plumb.

Plumb continued on to place second in the 600 M (1:45.99), while Miller landed in third place (1:46.14).

Sophomore Dakota Zamarripa snapped the tape in the 2000 M Steeplechase (8:18.35) to set the tone for the Tigers.

Sophomore Elani Huntley had a strong showing with a top finish in the 3000 M (11:22.52), while placing second in the 1500 M (5:10.31)

Freshman Rylee Blanton highlighted the throwers with a bronze in the Discus (35.70m). Freshman Lilana Quezada landed just outside the top three with a fourth place finish in the 300 M (41.68).
