Men’s Cross Country Takes on NCAA Competition
The Riverside City College men's cross country team found themselves in another top tier meet this past Saturday as they faced off against a handful of NCAA competitors in the 40th Annual UC Riverside Invitational. The Tigers were one of two two-year competitors and placed 17th overall.
Leading the charge for the Tigers was freshman Gavyn Condit. For the first time this season, Condit paced the pack and finished with a mark of 25:36.2 for 82nd place. He continues to act as one of the Tiger's premier runners after placing in the team's top three the past three meets.
Freshman Raen Reyes followed in 90th with a mark reading 25:48.1 and continued to act as one of RCC's top dogs as well.
Sophomore Mario Tavares placed just outside of the top-100 with a mark reading 26:04.3 after being the top runner for the Tigers in the past two meets. Sophomore Vincent Capacete finished with a mark of 26:33.3 to place 132nd overall, while freshman Abel Ramos broke into RCC's top five finishers with a 138th finish at 26:38.1.
