Riverside Flourishes at Home Meet

Riverside City College hosted the Riverside Invite Friday and found success in the rain in its final meet of the regular season.

Zekiah Serrano won the 100-yard fly, clocking in at 51.67 seconds.

Vincent Roulhac won the 1-meter diving with a score of 182.10, almost 40 points higher than second place. He also took second on the 3-meter board with a score of 126.30.

Three Tigers came one right after each other in the 50-yard free led by Yousef Nahali with a time of 21.94 seconds. Serrano was just .01 seconds behind in third at 21.95, while Marius Mora took fourth with a time of 22.00 seconds.

Nahali also took third in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 57.41 seconds and Mora grabbed second in the 100-yard free at 48.38 seconds. Lennon Franklin wasn't far behind in third with a time of 49.74 seconds.

Gerardo Garcia took third in the 400-yard IM after touching the wall in 4:34.01, six seconds faster than his previous best time.

Ryan Stanfill took third in the 200-yard fly, finishing in 2:12.75.

The Tiger 200-yard medley relay team of Franklin, Nathan Dulkis, Serrano and Nahali took second with a time of 1:37.12, while the 800-yard free relay team of Mora, Garcia, Franklin and Serrano also finished second in 7:19.72.

Riverside shift its focus to the postseason, heading to the Orange Empire Conference Championship next. The diving championships take place April 12-13, while the rest of the championship will be held April 18-20.
