Riverside Cruises to 27 Point Win over Golden West

The Riverside City College men's basketball team hit the road for the third time this month as they faced off against the Golden West College Rustlers on Friday in conference action. Four players landed in double-digit scoring as the Tigers rolled to a 27-point victory.

Riverside was efficient offensively as they shot 47.5 percent from the floor. Both teams were effective from long range, but the game was won down low. The Tigers scored 38 points in the paint while outrebounding Golden West 44-28. Furthermore, they only turned the ball over just four times for a season-low.

Sophomore forward Jalen Monroe was the ultimate bruiser down low as he finished with a game-high 20 points and nine rebounds. Furthermore, he rose up for two blocks and pocketed a steal. It is the fifth time Monroe has landed in double-digit scoring as his 20 points matched his career high.

Joining Monroe on the offensive front was freshman guard Darius McClain. He dropped 17 points which was four points shy of his season-high mark. He was money from downtown as he snapped home a trio of triples.

Freshman guard Tomi Adesiji came off the bench for the second time this year and was effective in his role. He finished with 13 points on a 4-for-8 night shooting. Three of his four shots came from long range.

Sophomore guard Julian Alvarez, who earned his fourth-consecutive start, continued to post strong numbers. He bucketed 11 points with three points coming from the charity stripe.
