Tigers Boat Race Golden West, Snap Two-Game Slide

After two tough conference losses, the Riverside City College men's basketball team got back on track with a dominant performance in a game against the Golden West College Rustlers. Every player on the Tiger's roster saw time on the couret leading to a commanding 96-56 victory.

The 40-point boat race was the highest margin of victory for the Tigers all season. All but two players scored for the Tigers with 35 coming from the bench.

Riverside was electric from long range as they posted a 45.5 shooting clip. They shot 58.3 percent from the floor as well. Furthermore, they outrebounded Golden West 49-36 and committed nine fewer turnovers.

Sophomore point guard Melvin Walker led the team in scoring and nearly recorded his first double-double of the season. He dropped a season-high 21 points and reeled in eight rebounds. He added five assists and two steal in the process. Additional, he went 5-for-5 from downtown. Fellow sophomore guard Zekiah LoVett went 4-for-8 from distance leading to 14 points.

Sophomore Amir Davis recorded his first double-double of the season with 13 rebound and 12 points, Nine of his points came in the second half.

Freshman sharp shooter Julian Alvarez posted 13 points which was one point away from tying his career-high mark.
