Track & Field Faces Division I Talent at Ben Brown Invitational
The men's & women's track and field programs faced off against multiple Division I teams at the Ben Brown Invitational. With the likes of four years schools featuring CSU Long Beach, UC San Diego, CSU San Bernardino, University of Hawaii, CSU Bakersfield and many more, the Tigers strung together decent times.
MEN
Sophomore Darius Hill highlighted the group of athletes as he placed fifth in two events coming in the Long Jump (22' 7 ¼) and the High Jump (6' 4 ¾).
Sophomore Kyle Reden highlighted the runners with a sixth place showing in the 800 M (1:54.16), while freshman Mekhi Gilmore landed in ninth place in the 400 M (48.84). Freshman Dominic Boykins place 19th in the 100 M (10.84).
A 1600 M Relay (3:20.12) team comprised of Gilmore, sophomore Joshua Hornsby, freshman Charlie Ruiz and freshman Elijah Davis earned fifth overall.
WOMEN
The women were paced by sophomore sprinter Zoe Ewell who landed in fourth in the 100 M (12.02). Freshman Dakota Zamarripa was the next-best finisher in an event with a 10th place finish in the 3000 M Steeplechase (12:29.48). Sophomore Alejandra Rosales placed 17th overall in the Shot Put (40' 7 ½).
