Swimming & Diving Completes Season at CCCAA Championships

The Riverside City College men's and women's swimming and diving program competed in the three-day California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) State Championships over the weekend. Riverside put together some strong results highlighted by the women's team landing in the top-10.

The women qualified in nine events highlighted by Lorelai Carney earning a dual championship in the one meter and three meter. It is the first time in RCC history that a female diver has hauled in the gold in both events. Read more about her impressive feat here.

The Tigers landed on the podium in the 200 Free (1:41.55) and hauled in the bronze. They followed with a 15th place mark in the 400 Medley Relay (4:37.26).

Lauren Loffelmacher had a strong finish in the 400 IM (5:01.04) to highlight her inaugural championship appearance. She also placed 13th overall in the 200 IM (2:21.37), backed by a 15th place mark in the 200 IM (2:21.37). Pilar Lara placed 13th in the 100 Back (1:02.39) as well.  

For the men, Ilias Massignan landed just inside the top-16 in the 500 Free (4:56.57) to earn 15th overall. He continued on to place 15th in the 400 IM (4:26.45), while Yanis Massignan (4:28.71) edged him out for 14th overall.
