Women’s Track & Field Set to Compete in OEC Finals

The Riverside City College women's track & field team is set for action on Friday as they will compete for a top spot in the Orange Empire Conference (OEC) championships. They hold top marks in X events and look to haul in the gold in each one.

Freshman Alejandra Rosales got off to a strong start already by reeling in the championship in the Shot Put (41' 5 ¼"). She is the favorite to take home the gold in the Hammer (136' 5") and the Discus (146' 8") as well.

The 4 x 100 M Relay (47.23) comes in as the top time comprised of runners Zoe Ewell, Hailey Hunt, Kayla Johnson and Briana Olukoju. The same trio clocked the strongest time in the 4 x 400 M Relay (4:03.30) as well.

Sprints will be the Tiger's top events as Hunt hold the strongest time in the 200 M (24.68), while Ewell (25.03) follows in third. The duo will go head-to-dead in the 100 M as Hunt (12.21) slightly edges Ewell (12.24) in a one-two punch event.

Elani Huntley holds the third-strongest mark in the 1500 M (4:58.14), while holding the second strongest seed time in the 800 M (2:27.89). Laila Wright hold the top 800 M (2:27.09) to shape up for a potential photo finish.
