Women’s Track & Field Moves Up in Individual State Rankings at RCC Open

The Riverside City College women's track & field team hosted the RCC Open on Friday under great conditions at Wheelock Stadium. The Tigers landed in the top three in 17 events highlighted by nine top marks.

Alejandra Rosales continued to set the tone for Riverside as she placed first in the Shot Put (37' 3 ¾"), Discus (135' 10"), and Hammer (136' 5"). She is currently the state leader in the Shot Put (42' 9") and second in Discus with her most recent mark. In addition, she is now top seven in the state in Hammer with today's mark.

The Tigers swept the podium in two events coming in the Long Jump and the 200 M.

Kylen Tucker placed first in the Long Jump (16' 2 ¼"), backed by Triana Bedolla (16' ¼') and Taylen Henry (15' ½"). Henry continued on to place first in the Triple Jump (32' 7") and the Henry placed second (31' 9 ½").

Hailey Hunt led the pack in the 200 M (24.83) to earn the top spot, while Zoe Ewell followed in second place (25.24). Briana Olukoju followed in third place (25.94).

Hunt followed with a second place finsih in the 100 M (12.22), while Ewell earned the top spot in the High Jump (5' 1").

Hunt, Ewell and Olujoku were not finished as the trio teamed up and added Kayla Johnson to a first place finish in the 1600 M Relay (4:05.06). It was the second relay victory the Tigers earned as they snapped the tape in the 4 x 800 M Relay (10:36.01) with a team comprised of Laila Wright, Elani Huntley, Helena Valdez and Dakota Hirst.

Brianna Rodriguez capped the top finishes for the Tigers with a third place mark in the 1500 M (5:09.94).
