Women’s Track & Field Hosts Division I Competitors at RCC Invitational

The Riverside City College women's track and field team hosted a number of Division I schools on Friday night at the RCC Invitational that featured UC Riverside, CSU Fullerton, Cal Baptist, CSU San Marcos, CSU San Bernardino and Arizona Christian. The Tigers failed to place in the top three, but earned eight top three marks leading to 109 total points and a fourth place finish.

CSU San Marcos (148) points was the victor, while CSU Fullerton (133) placed second and UC Riverside (126) followed in third.

The Tigers sprinters performed well with Briana Olujoku placing first in the 400 M (1:00.05), backed by Kayla Johnson who placed second by a mere second (1:01.05).

Zoe Ewell crossed the finish line first in the 100 M (12.12) in a display of top speed.

The 400 M Relay was a success as they placed first overall (47.99) in a squad comprised of Hailey Hunt, Ewell, Johnson and Olujpoku.  They capped their relay efforts with a second place finish in the 1600 M Relay (4:04.89) as Laila Wright, Johnson, Ewell and Olujoku got the job done.

Brianna Rodriguez highlighted the distance efforts with a first place showing in the 3000 M Steeplechase (12:30.70).

Alejandra Rosales showcased her skills for a second place finish in the Discus (129' 8"), while Trinia Bedolla placed third in the Long Jump (16' ¼").
