Tigers Handle Bobcats with Ease, Sweep Season Series

It was a quick day for the Riverside City College women's tennis team as they traveled to Saddleback College to take on the Bobcats in conference play.  It was a strong performance up and down the roster with all but one singles match concluding in two sets, thus leading to an 8-1 win.

Sophomore Torrey Mateljan and freshman Keeley Arendt got things going with an 8-5 win as the top doubles duo, backed by an 8-3 win from number two squad Samantha Treat and Jillian Stark.

Freshman tandem Marvonna Vaxter and Semaj Walter won 9-8 (4) in a hard fought number three showdown.

Treat continued on as the number two singles player and reeled in a 6-4, 6-0 win, while Arendt cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 win as the third singles player.

Stark wore out her opponent forcing her to retire in the second set, 6-0, 5-0 (ret.), while freshman Adrielle Fotchi earned a tough 7-6, 6-0 win. Walter capped the wins with a 6-4, 6-1 win at the sixth spot.
