RCC Sweeps Fullerton in Series Set

RCC Sweeps Fullerton in Series Set

The Tigers hosted the Fullerton College Hornets at home on Thursday for their final showdown of a two-match series. Unlike Tuesday's showdown that came down to a three-set thriller to decide the victory, Riverside came out ready and cruised to a 7-2 win.

Sophomore Keeley Arendt and Samantha Treat teamed up as the top doubles duo for the first time this season. They played well together and cruised to an 8-2 win.

Treat and Arendt carted their hot play into singles and each reigned supreme in two sets.

Freshman Marvonna Vaxter sought out redemption in her singles match at the third position. After falling to the same opponent just two days prior, a three-set tiebreaker swayed in her favor leading to a win with scores reading 6-4, 3-6, 11-9. Freshman Kalena Yanez earned her second-straight victory at the fifth position by the final count of 7-5, 6-2.
