Dewitt & Vasquez Earn All-Conference Recognition

Dewitt & Vasquez Earn All-Conference Recognition

The Riverside City College women's basketball team completed its 2018-19 campaign with an overall record of 14-11 which included an Orange Empire Conference (OEC) mark of 10-4. After completing an impressive season, a sophomore forward Dayna Dewitt and freshman guard Trinity Vasquez were named to the OEC First-Team All-Conference list.

Dewitt hauls in her first honor in her final campaign by being a leader on and off the hardwood. The forward started in every conference contest leading to an 18.6 points-per-game mark. She was a highly reliable weapon for the Tigers as she scored in double-digits in all by one conference contest. She surpassed the 20 or more points mark on six occasions highlighted by a 33-point effort in a win over Irvine Valley. That performance was sandwiched between a 24 point showing in a win over Orange Coast and a 20 point showing in a victory over Santa Ana. She recorded three double-doubles on the season with her largest coming in her 33-point effort where she corralled 15 boards.

Vasquez burst on to the scene as one of the strongest freshman players as she earned all-conference honors in her first season. She started in each conference contest and boasted an 18.1 points-per-game mark. She landed in double-digit scoring in every conference showdown highlighted by a 32-point eruption in a victory over Saddleback. She followed that performance with a 21-point showing in a win over Copper Mountain – her second-largest output on the year. She passed the rock efficiently as well by earning a 2.9 assists-per-game mark accompanied by a 3.5 rebounds-per-game mark and a 1.4 steals-per-game clip.
