Men’s XC Places Fourth at CCCAA Southern Regional Championships

The Riverside City College men's cross country team competed at the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Southern Regional Championships at Mission Bay Park. The men placed fourth overall after slightly missing the podium, but improved by four positions from the previous year.

It was the Tigers seventh top-five finish this season and their third-straight top-four finish. Freshman Jordan Wilson continued to anchor the team with his 18th place finish. He crossed the finish line at a time of 22:01.3. He was the lone Tiger to finish in the top-20.

Freshman Cody Patrick, who has had a huge resurgence the past two weeks, acted as the second-strongest Riverside runner. He earned a time of 22:13.7 to earn 33rd place. Freshman Jared Mallon followed in 38th place with a mark of 22:24.0.

Sophomore Ricardo Cruz and freshman Joshua Briscoe landed in the top-50 with Cruz completing his run at 22:32.0 for 45th overall. Briscoe landed in 50th place with a time of 22:36.2.

Riverside has qualified for the CCCAA State Championships on Saturday, November 23 at Woodward park. The race is set to begin at 10 a.m.
