In 2014, Northcott guided the RCC men's water polo squad to an 8-18 overall won-lost record, 3-5 in the Orange Empire Conference (OEC), including the OEC Tournament, and a No. 10 seed in the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Southern California Regional playoffs. RCC lost, 20-13, to No. 7 seed Grossmont in opening round action hosted by Citrus College.

In 2013, RCC was 9-8 overall (5-3 in the OEC, including the conference tournament, and placed third). Seeded No. 5 in the CCCAA SoCal Regionals, after receiving a first-round bye, RCC lost, 13-12, to No. 4 seed Cuesta in second round play at host Cerritos College.

For the previous six seasons, Northcott helped the Tigers to six consecutive regional playoff appearances while twice qualifying for the State Championship tournament.

For four years, Northcott coached at the boys' high school club level at Riverside Water Polo.  During his time there, Jason led his teams to the Junior Olympic National Tournament three times with two top ten finishes, including a 6th place finish in 2008.

As a high school water polo player, Northcott played for his predecessor -- then-RCC head men’s water polo coach Nate Hass -- at Jurupa Valley High School where he won three consecutive CIF Championships from 1995-1997, including two as a starter.  After graduating, Northcott served as the assistant coach at Jurupa Valley H.S. while helping his alma mater to three consecutive CIF semifinal appearances.

Coach Northcott also has a culinary arts degree from CSCA in Pasadena and has five years experience as a chef. Additionally, Jason earned his bachelor of arts degree in English at California State University San Bernardino, where he also earned his master of arts degree in English.
