Riverside City College faced tough competition on the first day of the Cuesta Tournament on Friday.
The Tigers fell 20-6 to No. 3-ranked American River College to drop to 3-3 overall, while the Beavers improved to 7-4 on the year with the win. RCC was scheduled to play sixth-ranked Mt. San Antonio College later Friday, but a power outage canceled the game.
Luke Bills scored half of Riverside's goals and assisted on two others. Nico Armstrong, Ian Partida-Garcia, and Yanti Quijada also scored for the Tigers.
RCC is slated to resume the Cuesta Tournament on Saturday, bright and early, taking on LA Valley College at 7:30 a.m. The Tigers then battle No. 5-ranked Long Beach City College at 2:30 p.m.
