Men’s Track & Field Earns Handful of Qualifying Marks at SoCal Regional

The Riverside City College men's track and field team traveled to Moorpark College on Friday to participate in the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Southern Regional Prelims. The Tigers had a strong qualifying day leading into the regional finals next week.

Darius Hill had a strong showing in the Long Jump (7.48m) by earning the top qualifying mark. He continued on to earned the third best mark in the High Jump (1.90m).

Abel Ramos placed fourth overall in the 3000 M Steeplechase (9:42.04), while Raen Reyes (9:46.50) qualified as well.

The Tigers 4 x 100 M Relay (41.31) compliments of Irvin Barajas, Dominic Boykins, Joshua Hornsby and Tyler Howard placed second overall by a mere two seconds. Hornsby followed, to no surprise, by clocking a meet-best mark in the 100 M Hurdles (14.44) to continue to pace the state.

THe hurdle squad remain strong with Tyler Howard (53.48) earning the top mark in the 400 M Hurdles, while Matthew Siggins (54.40) followed in second place.

Two qualifiers came out of the 800 M featuring Mic
