Men’s Track & Field’s Vasquez Places Second in OEC Multis, Qualifies for SoCals

Freshman Reno Vasquez of the Riverside City College men's track and field program competed in the Orange Empire Conference (OEC) Multis Championships over the past two days. Vasquez placed second overall with a total point accumulation of 4,991.

Vasquez placed first in four events with his strengths coming in the running events. He won all but one event on the track as seen in the 100 M (11.57), 400 M (52.11) and the 1500 M (4:48.81).

He went on to win the Shot Put (30' 10 ¼") to round out his top finishes. He placed second in a handful of events by a narrow margin. His closest second-place finish came in the High Jump (5' 7") were he missed the top of the podium by a mere inch. He earned silver medals in the Long Jump (20' ½"), Discus (80' 5") and the Javelin (127' 11").

With his marks, he qualified for the Southern California Regional Championships.
