"Chris has worked hard and overcome the cancelation of the Olympics last year and has been a model of perseverance," said Head Coach Jim McCarron. "He has represented the Tigers and the sport of track and field well. We wish Chris the best on his quest for a medal at the 2021 Olympics in Japan."

Bernard was the 2010 California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Individual Track & Field Champion in the Long Jump (LJ) and TJ. His efforts earned him a full-ride scholarship to Arizona State University after being sought out by a handful of Division I programs.

He went on to become three-time All-American for the Sun Devil's and holds the record for TJ and LJ.
