Clark, Mityurin Pace Tigers in Victory over El Camino

The Riverside City College men's tennis team faced off against the El Camino College Warriors on Tuesday afternoon in non-conference play. The Tigers jumped back on the winning train by taking down the Warriors with ease by the final score of 8-1.

A one-two punch featuring sophomore Miles Clark and freshman Gelb Mityurin was as enforcing as ever as they began their day with a 8-2 win in doubles. Clark acted as the top singles player and reigned supreme in two sets with scores reading 6-2, 6-2. Mityurin followed with a two-set victory at 6-1, 6-0.

Freshman David Garcia and Maechel Hanna experienced a thrilling doubles match in the two slot and edged out a 9-8 (7) victory. Freshman Austin Archer and Luke Craig followed with a strong 8-5 win as the third doubles team.

Sophomore Esteban Ortiz was victorious at the fourth position in two sets (6-4, 6-1), while freshman Jacob McMahon followed at the sixth spot with a victory (6-2, 6-1).

Riverside (4-1) will continue action on Thursday, February 21 in their Orange Empire Conference (OEC) opener on the road against the Saddleback College Gauchos. The match is set to begin at 2 p.m.
