
Serrano Wins 3C2A State Championship, Tigers Finish Fifth
Riverside City College closed out the 3C2A State Championship Meet Saturday, taking fifth overall with 324 points.
The first time the event was offered at the state championship, Zekiah Serrano won the 100-yard individual medley in record fashion, touching the wall in 50.67 seconds to set the initial standard for the 3C2A State Championship.
Lennon Franklin wasn't far behind his teammate, clocking in at 51.68 seconds to take third.
Yousef Nahali finished third in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 44.81 seconds.
Jared Ladinez took eighth in the 200-yard breaststroke after touching the wall in 2:09.28. Davis DeAnda finished 15th with a time of 2:09.45.
Vincent Fierro took 14th in the 1650-yard freestyle, finishing in 17:06.42.
The Tigers closed out the state championship with a runner-up finish in the 400-yard free relay, posting a time of 3:01.99.
