
RCC Sees Multiple Individuals Win on Final Day of OEC Championship
Riverside City College saw multiple individual wins while finishing third as a team at the Orange Empire Conference Championship.
The Tigers finished with 650 team points, while Orange Coast College won with 852 points, and Golden West College followed in second with 811 points.
Head Coach Jason Northcott was named OEC Coach of the Year following the meet.
A day after setting a new meet and school record in the 200-yard medley relay, three of the Tigers from the relay team won individual races, including another broken record.
Zekiah Serrano won the 100-yard individual medley with a time of 50.90 seconds, setting a new OEC and RCC record.
Yousef Nahali took the 100-yard freestyle crown in 45.55 seconds.
Jared Ladinez won the 200-yard breaststroke, clocking in at 2:06.06. Davis DeAnda finished third in 2:09.86, and Adrian Thompson took sixth in 2:15.36.
In the longest event of the day, Vincent Fierro took sixth in 17:04.61, followed by Jeremiah Ireland in 17:17.51.
RCC's 400-yard free relay team of Ireland, Alejandro Mondragon, Ladinez, and Nahali finished third with a time of 3:12.74.
Riverside heads to the 3C2A State Championship May 1-3 at Santa Rosa Junior College.
