Bio

Steve Sigloch will begin his 11th season as the Riverside City College Tigers head men's golf coach.  He has enjoyed much success since taking over the golf program.

In 2018, his team advanced to SoCal Regionals and placed 7th at the State Championships.  It marked the fifth time in the last 10 years his team has advanced to the State Championships. In the previous year, his team won both the Orange Empire Conference Championship and the SoCal Regional Championship.  Everett Najera was the 2017 OEC Conference Player of Year and crowned the SoCal Regional Individual Champion.  RCC finished third at the State Championships that year.

His 2015 squad won the Orange Empire Conference (OEC) championship, finished fourth at the Southern California Regional Championships and finished fourth at the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) state championships at Kingsburg.  Sophomore Chad Hambright was named the OEC Player of the Year.

In 2014, the Tigers reached the pinnacle as they won the CCCAA State Championship on their home course – the Victoria Country Club.  It was the first Men’s Golf State Championship at Riverside City College.

In 2010, RCC finished third at the Southern California Regionals and fourth at the CCCAA State Championships.  That year, Nick Paez was crowned the SoCal Regional individual champion. 

In 2009, his first year as head coach, Kendall Jenkins captured RCC’s first individual Golf State Championship.

During his tenure, Sigloch has coached numerous All-Conference, All-Region and All-State players.

Prior to 2009, Sigloch spent the previous 15 years as an assistant football coach at RCC. He was the defensive coordinator for three years and built a reputation of putting excellent defensive units on the field.

He began his coaching career at Riverside Poly High School where he was an outstanding two-sport athlete.  Sigloch went on to attend the University of Utah where he played both football and baseball. He was twice named a Western Athletic Conference Scholar Athlete.  Sigloch was drafted in 1990 by the Milwaukee Brewers. He spent two seasons with the organization.

Sigloch, the Department Chair in Kinesiology holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Utah and Master’s degree in Kinesiology from Azusa Pacific University. Sigloch resides in Riverside with his wife, Chancy, son, Jack (16), and daughter, Ryann (13).
