Medlock Wins Second Tournament of the Season, Tigers Finish Four Strokes Out

Medlock Wins Second Tournament of the Season, Tigers Finish Four Strokes Out

Freshman Jordan Medlock draped his second gold medal around his neck on Monday afternoon by finishing with a field low two-under 70. His season-low round nearly lead his team to a top finish, but the Tigers fell short by a mere four strokes and finished third overall (375).

Medlock, who has proven to be a home course pro, followed his first place showing at the Victoria Club in late April with another top finish at the Canyon Crest Country Club – Riverside's second home course.

After beginning his round three over through the first five holes, Medlock settled in back capping his front nine with a pair of birdies to put him back at even. He followed by adding to more birdies leading to four-straight chirps, backed by an eagle two holes later. He birdied the following hole, but notched a bogey and a set of pars leading to his field-pacing 70.

Sophomore Theodoren Delehanty landed at even to mark his best round in several tournaments. He carded four birdies on the day. Freshman Brian Bashaw followed with a 74. He dropped an eagle on the second hole accompanied by four birdies scattered throughout his round.

Riverside currently sits in fifth place and is just three points back of the top four. They will continue action on Monday, May 24 at the OEC Coastal Neutral tournament in Rancho Santa Margarita.
