Medlock Lands One Over, Locks Down Individual Win

Medlock Lands One Over, Locks Down Individual Win

Sophomore transfer Jordan Medlock has been playing phenomenally since joining the Riverside City College men's golf team this season. After nearly placing first overall in last week's Orange Empire Conference (OEC) showdown, Medlock came ready to hunt for the top spot one again at the Victoria Country Club in Riverside, CA.

Medlock placed second last Wednesday in OEC action despite shooting an even 72. He rebounded well and captured the top spot this time around by shooting a field-low one over at 73. It could have very well been home link advantage, but his consistent play debunks that cliché notion.

"It felt good and I was hitting the ball good," said Medlock. "Everything that I have worked on up to this point has been for this moment."

An eagle on 14 following a handful of three puts saved his round. Despite those minor hiccups, his round was smooth sailing.

"Everything was all there. I didn't have any big mistakes. I was hitting a lot of greens and fairways. I did enough to take home the win"

Sophomore Theoren Delehanty was in the mix for a top finish after landing four over at 76. Sophomore Jordan Reynoso followed with the third-strongest score at 79.

Riverside will continue action on Monday, May 3 on the road in conference action. The match will be hosted by Mt. San Jacinto at the Soboba Golf Course at 11 a.m.
