RCC Grabs Fourth-Straight Win

No. 15-ranked Riverside City College dominated Mt. San Jacinto College with a 44-12 victory Saturday afternoon.

The Tigers improve to 6-2 on the year, 4-1 in the National-Southern League with their fourth-straight win. The Eagles slip to 3-5 overall and 1-4 in conference.

Riverside showcased a strong offensive performance, amassing 565 total yards, including 298 yards rushing, highlighted by an 88-yard touchdown from Marquis Monroe (two carries, 90 yards). Kayvion Sibley had eight carries for 103 yards (one touchdown), while Bryan Wilson finished with 308 total yards, including 267 passing yards on a 17-for-31 performance. Wilson threw one touchdown pass and ran in another.

Timothy Tynan was 3-for-3 on field goal and extra point attempts. Anthony Orozco and Kia Creta also scored an extra point for the Tigers.

Defensively, Micah Valenzuela led the Tigers with seven tackles, while Walter Manning came up big with four solo tackles and an interception for 32 yards.

The Tigers jumped out to a 21-0 lead with three touchdowns in the first quarter alone. Ross Nickson scored the first of the game off a 60-yard pass from Wilson. Sibley followed with a 78-yard run into the endzone before Monroe scored his 88-yard touchdown.

Riverside has two games left in the regular season and sits a game behind the top spot (El Camino College and Saddleback College at 5-0) in the National-Southern standings. The Tigers head to the Warriors' place next weekend for a 6 p.m. contest on Saturday.
