No. 2-ranked Riverside City College battled in its first road game of the year, but ultimately fell 42-35 to No. 7-ranked Golden West College Saturday afternoon.
The Tigers drop to 1-1 on the year with the defeat, while the Rustlers remain undefeated at 2-0.
RCC finished with 456 total offensive yards, including 415 passing yards. Jared Doolittle went 23-for-40 for 385 yards and threw three touchdowns with one interception.
Kayvion Sibley and Chris Cooper each scored a rushing touchdown, while Ross Nickson III, Logan Quates and Camden Connor each caught a touchdown pass.
Defensively, Micah Valenzuela had 11 total tackles, including eight solo stuffs. Isaiah Ayers followed with seven tackles, including five solo and one tackle for loss, while Ty Staples had four tackles and grabbed an interception. Donald Smith III also snatched an interception and ran it back for 19 yards.
Riverside looks to bounce back next week as it hits the road again, heading to No. 20-ranked College of the Canyons on Saturday for a noon kickoff.
