RCC Takes Second in 2023-24 Daktronics Cup Race

The National Alliance of Two-Year College Athletic Administrators (NATYCAA) released the final Riverside City College 2023-24 Daktronics Cup standings, with Riverside City College taking second overall in the State Associations Division and sixth overall amongst all two-year colleges.

Mt. San Antonio College won the Cup for overall program excellence in two-year college athletics in the State Associations Division with 183.5 points, while the Tigers garnered 162 points.

Colleges are awarded points based on their teams' final positions in post-conference competition with state championships worth the most points (20). Each college's top-five men's and top-five women's team results count toward the school's overall point total. Complete standings, scoring criteria, and history of the NATYCAA Cup is available on the 3C2A website. This year's complete results can be found here. 3C2A results with both the overall and sport-by-sport finishes are also available at that site.

RCC sat in fifth place after the winter standings were released but grabbed 89 points in the spring to jump up three spots to the runner-up finish. Riverside saw multiple teams finish strong in their respective 3C2A State Championships, including the Tiger men's track and field team grabbing second place, a fourth-place finish for men's swim and dive and fourth place for women's track and field, and the baseball team advancing to the Super Regional.
