Swimming & Diving Host RCC Invitational

The men's and women's swimming & diving program hosted their first meet of the season at the Riverside aquatics Complex (RAC) over the past two days. The women's side saw the most success leading to a second place showing, while the men finished sixth overall.

WOMEN

The Tigers saw three competitors score 40 or more points with Valerie Juarez amassing a team-high 72 points. She placed top five in three of her five events highlighted by a second place finish in the 200 Fly (2:38.47). She placed fourth in the 100 Free (57.98) and the 200 Free (2:11.59) and sixth in the 400 IM (5:43.35).

Loren Loffelmacher hauled in the gold medal in two events leading to 69 total points. She touched the wall first in the 400 IM (5:10.51) and the 200 Back (2:19.56), followed by a third-place showing in the 200 IM (2:24.85). Her first-place finishes were four to six seconds better than her seed times.

Lara Pilar had a strong day as she placed second in the 100 Back (1:03.43), while Lindsey Habegger landed on the podium in all three of her events. She earned second place in the 200 Free (2:05.45) and third place in the 50 Free (26.26) and the 100 Free (57.19).

Lorelai Carney dominated the diving board as she placed first in the one meter (178.35) and the three meter (231.30). Julia Ashton followed with a third place showing in the three meter (128.55).

Caleigh Reynoldson placed second in the 1650 Free (22:19.84), while Lauren Nelson placed third in the 100 Breaststroke (1:24.25) and McKenzie Hollis placed third in the 200 Breastroke (3:09.35).

MEN

Yassin Massignan and Ben McCombs lead the Tigers in points as they both accumulated 37 points each.

Y. Massignan's efforts came in a fourth place finish in the 500 Free (5:04.07), while McCombs had his highest finished come in the 200 Fly (2:21.07) at seventh place.

Iilas Massignan had one of the best finishes of the meet by placing second in the 1650 Free (18:04.14), while Seth Zarn finished fifth in the 100 Breaststroke (1:04.59).
