Kaladon Stewart Named Acting Athletic Director

Kaladon Stewart Named Acting Athletic Director

As announced by Vice President of Student Services Dr. FeRita Carter, Kaladon Stewart has been named the Acting Athletic Director for the Riverside City College athletics department effective July 1.

Stewart will replace the recently retired Jim Wooldridge, who held the position of Athletic Director for five years.

"I am grateful and humbled to accept the appointment for the Acting Director of Athletics," said Stewart. "I thank President, Dr. Gregory Anderson and Vice President of Student Services, Dr. FeRita Carter for entrusting me to be a steward of a program so immersed in such a rich history and exceptional achievements."

Prior to his appointment, Stewart was recently hired as the Compliance Director and was primarily tasked with overseeing the student-athlete eligibility and compliance for all 18 varsity sports. Additionally, he was involved in several initiatives including day-to-day operations, strategic planning and assisting in the oversite of the Athletic Learning Center (ALC). He began his journey at RCC by being hired as an hourly assistant in the Admissions & records office.

Stewart enriched himself in the compliance world by co-founding the Association of California Community College Eligibility Specialists (ACCCES) where he served as the organization's first president. ACCCES's mission is to provide fair, standardized, and consistent certification for more than 24,000 California community college student-athletes who compete annually at one of the 115 community colleges.
