Track & Field Earns Qualifying Marks at Rossi Relays

The Riverside City College track & field program hit the road to participate in the Rossi Relays on Saturday hosted by Division III Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges. In a field that consisted of strong Division II, III and NAIA schools, the Tigers performed at a high level and impressed in multiple areas while earning qualifying marks for postseason competition.

The men's 4 x 100 M Relay continued to shine by placing third with an overall mark of 42.09. The time warranted a CCC A cut. The team was comprised of Jabriel Smith, Darnell Ricardson, Will Dower and Lorenzo Boyd.

The 4 x 800 M Relay landed on the podium with a third place finish (8:01.68). The grouping was made up of Kenan Van Setten, Trevor Nguru, Ethan Hemminger and Joshua Briscoe.

Freshman Matthew Siggins placed second in the 110 M hurdles (15.44), while sophomore Evan Vigrass rounded out the top-15 (16.00). Vigrass continued on to place seventh in the 400 M Hurdles (56.57).

Dower moved his talents to the jumping events following his performance in the relays and placed third in the Long Jump (22' 3.5"). Freshman Lorenzo Boyd backed him with a seventh place mark (20' 11.75").

Sophomore Patrick Maria continued to perform well in the Javelin as seen in a fifth place finish (165' 9"). His mark earned him a CCC B cut. Sophomore Adam Millet placed ninth in the Pole Vault (13' 7.25"), while freshman Michael Bates finished in 13th place (10'2").

The women's performances were highlighted by freshman Ariana Fealofai who placed first in the Shot Put (40' 4") for the second-consecutive meet. She followed with a sixth place finish in the Discus (128' 10"). Both marks earned her a CCC A cut.

Freshman Keiana Turner earned a SoCal qualifying mark in the Hammer (157' 4") to land her in fourth place. She followed with a ninth place mark in the Shot Put (35' 5.75") and a 10th place mark in the Discus (115' 8").

The Tigers capped their top performances with a third place finish in the 4 x 400 M Relays (4:01.58). The time recorded by LaDaijah Wright, Hailey Hunt, Alana Wilson and Annayah Pelt earned them a CCC A cut.
